Dental Implant Placement
Dental implants are the most comfortable, predictable and long lasting method of missing tooth replacement. They can be used to replace a single lost tooth or many missing teeth. A single tooth or teeth replaced with dental implants are the closest thing to a natural tooth available. Implants are designed to serve as a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Dental implants allow a person that has lost teeth to regain their ability to eat virtually anything, therefore, allowing one to enjoy nutritious foods, contribute to better health, and enjoy social gathering based around meals. Implants can help prevent undesirable deterioration of jawbone and the resulting accelerated aging appearance that can occur. But most of all, dental implants improve the quality of life, enhance self-image, and restore self-confidence. We are proud to be able to offer our patients the opportunity to have dental implants placed in our office.
S.T.A.™- Single Tooth Anesthesia
S.T.A.™ or the Single Tooth Anesthesia System was developed to replace the traditional syringe in dentistry. As much of a revolution as an evolution, this computer controlled anesthetic delivery system is a logical progression from the syringe. With the S.T.A. ™ system our office can offer comfortable dental treatment without numbing your lip, cheek and tongue. When it comes to going to the dentist we at have your comfort in mind. For those times when you might not look forward to that appointment the S.T.A.™ System make your visit easier and more comfortable.
Invisalign®
Invisalign® can give you the beautiful straight teeth you've always wanted. This system works through a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can even tell you're wearing them. You can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign has been proven effective and is much more comfortable that traditional metal wire and bracket braces. Your treatment will consist of a series of aligners that you switch out about every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place. Since your Invisalign system is custom-made for your teeth and your teeth only, with a plan devised by you and Dr. Nylaan, you know you'll end up with a smile that truly fits.
Air Abrasion Dentistry
Air Abrasion Dentistry is a relatively new technology intended to replace the dental handpiece and the need for anesthesia during certain procedures. During this procedure a small, precisely controlled stream of compressed air is blended with a super-fine abrasive powder. The stream is gently propelled toward the tooth with a special handpiece to remove decay. The decay is vacuumed away through our suction and the cavity is filled with a nearly invisible tooth colored resin filling material. Air Abrasion enables our office to remove decay while conserving your healthy tooth structure.
Diagnodent
Disease and decay are a constant threat to your teeth and gums. Once we can see decay with the naked eye, it usually means severe damage has occurred, and is sometimes irreversible. Diagnodent laser technology is the latest breakthrough in decay detection. The Diagnodent unit emits a laser beam that is directed towards your tooth. The laser beam can detect stronger versus weakened tooth structure. When the laser detects decay, it gives us both visual and audio cues. The higher the pitch and measuring number, the more likely decay is present in the area pictured by the laser. This kind of diagnosis helps us catch disease at its earliest stages.
Perioscopy
Periodontal disease is an infection of the gum and bone that can progress over time. This disease most of the time is without painful symptoms. However, several warning signs consist of swollen gums, tender gums, gums that bleed easily, gums pulling away from teeth, looseness of teeth, and bad breath. Periodontal disease has been linked to diabetes, heart and lung disease, stroke, and premature birth. Bacteria that cause periodontal disease are harder to kill than normal oral bacteria, therefore a routine cleaning will not control the infection. The Perioscope is a fiber optic endoscope that slips into pockets so root surfaces can be observed and cleaned. The endoscope projects a picture that is magnified 48 times its normal size onto a chair-side computer screen, helping our trained hygienists to visually detect the buildup and diseased gum tissue. The minimally-invasive micro camera magnifies details of unseen deposits like hardened plaque and tartar that cause bleeding and inflammation that can not always be detected with your routine cleaning.
VELscope
VELscope is the newest in Oral Cancer detection. We find that using the VELscope along with a standard oral cancer evaluation improves our ability to identify suspicious areas at their earliest stages. VELscope is a simple and painless evaluation that gives the best chance to find any oral abnormality at the earliest possible stage. Early detection of pre-cancerous tissue can minimize or eliminate the potentially disfiguring effects of oral cancer and possibly save your life.
Oral Cancer will kill 1 person per hour 24 hours per day!
Our goal is to reduce this number 1 patient at a time.
Digital X-rays
Our office offers CDR® (Computerized Digital Radiography) which is a computerized imaging system that utilizes an electronic sensor instead of X-ray film using up to 90% less radiation than conventional film X-rays. Dental x-rays can reveal: Abscesses, cysts, bone loss, cancerous and non-cancerous tumor, decay between the teeth, development abnormalities, poor tooth and root positions and problems inside a tooth or below the gum line. X-rays allow us to Detect and treat dental problems at an early stage that may save you time, money, unnecessary discomfort, and your teeth! Our office recently installed a digital panoramic x-ray machine. This machine will allow us to take x-rays of your entire mouth and jaw joints on one film. Since this is a digital x-ray we can use computerization to determine the health of your bone and magnify areas of concern.
In-Office Whitening System

The convenience in comparison to days of wearing trays and gradual whitening makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual.

Natural Colored Fillings
Natural Colored Fillings are Barely There. These fillings blend with the surrounding teeth enhancing your bright youthful appearance! Let us recommend the tooth colored filling material best suited to maintain your healthy smile.
Bonding
Bonding can improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, broken, decayed, cracked, stained, or have spaces between them. With bonding, tooth-colored materials are cemented to the tooth surface. This generates strength in the tooth while looking great.
Veneers
Veneers are thin custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials that are designed to cover the front of your teeth. Veneers can be used to treat spaces between teeth and teeth that are chipped or worn, permanently stained, poorly shaped or slightly crooked.
Bridgework
Bridgework can help maintain the shape of your face, as well as alleviating the stress in your bite by replacing missing teeth. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. This restoration can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials and is bonded onto surrounding teeth or implants for support.
Crowns
Crowns can cover and support a tooth with a large filling. This can also be used to attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking, or restore one that's already broken. A crown is a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped. A crown can also be used to cover a dental implant.
Dentures
Dentures can be constructed if you've lost all of your natural teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury. Replacing the missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. You'll be able to eat and speak-things that people often take for granted until their natural teeth are lost.
Electric Handpieces
We use Electric handpieces to prepare your tooth. The Electric handpieces are quieter than the older dental handpieces. They also generate less heat, so we can prepare your tooth more quickly without the risk of post-operative sensitivity.
Therasnore Appliances
The Adjustable TheraSnore is custom fit chair-side in your doctor’s office. Patients take their appliance home the same day they are fit. The Adjustable TheraSnore gently holds the mandible slightly protrusive without locking the mandible into the appliance. When the mandible is in a protrusive position, the tongue follows forward naturally and the soft tissue at the back of the throat tightens up. This protrusive position opens the airway, allowing more air to enter. Simply put, when you get more air, you don’t snore.
